Shaughnessy’s Cove didn’t start with us, the Mackenzie Hospitality Group. There is a long & storied history of the legendary Pub going back almost 35 years!

In 2021, while the world was slowing down, a new chapter was just beginning in the Okanagan. What started as a late-night conversation over the bar top at Score on King in Toronto quickly sparked into a reality that moved us West.

Our journey started at the Gunbarrel Saloon at Apex Mountain. We brought in a crew from some of our favorite spots in Vancouver and Toronto, and once they saw the lake and felt the mountain air, they didn't want to leave.

When we found the space that is now Shaughnessy’s Cove, it was empty and tired, but we saw the potential. We stripped it to the studs and redesigned it from the ground up to create the bright, unique atmosphere you see today. Out of respect for Summerland's history, we reached out to the original owners of the "Cove" brand to ask for their blessing; they were thrilled to see the name revitalized for a new generation.
